Hack Of All Trades
EPISODE 3
5 DIY Jewelry Hacks
1. Packing Necklaces
To avoid getting your necklace tangled when traveling, thread one end through a plastic straw and clasp it. This keeps your jewelry in perfect shape while they are packed and ready to wear when you get to where you are going.
2. Untangling Necklaces
If your jewelry at home is a big tangled mess, just add some baby powder to the mix. It helps loosen the friction between the knots. Simply sprinkle baby powder on the chain and use a pin to detangle.
3. Cleaning Jewelry
Want to bring back that beautiful sparkle? Just drop two antacid tablets into 6 ounces of water and let it dissolve. Place your gold or diamond jewelry in the solution and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. The bubbles in the acid with help bring back that twinkle! Avoid using this method on pearls or silver.
4. Removing Rings
Have a stubborn ring that won't come off? Grab a piece of string and wrap it around your finger a few times above the ring. Leave it there for a few seconds. The pressure will make the area below the finger swell up slightly, so when you undo the string that part of your finger will be smaller and the ring will slide off easy. Just make sure not to tie it too tight or leave it on for too long.
5. Clasping Bracelets
Don't let frustrating struggles with your bracelets get you down. All you need is a paper clip! Unwind the paper clip and loop it through one side of the clasp. Hold that side iin place with your left hand while you easily reach the clasp with your right.
