5 Foods You Can Grate

1) TOMATOES

Grated tomatoes are perfect for salsa, soup, and pasta sauce. First, cut off the top of the tomato and then grate. The leftover tomato skin can be used for vegetable stalks.

 

2) HARD BOILED EGG

Slices of hard-boiled egg are great for adding protein to salad, sandwiches, pizza.

 

3) ROOT VEGETABLES

Root vegetables such as sweet potatoes, parsnips, and carrots are perfect for grating.

 

4) BUTTER

Grated butter is great for making pastry dough or if your butter is too cold to spread on toast. Before you begin grating, make sure butter is very cold.

 

5) FROZEN BANANAS

It’s important to freeze bananas when they are extra ripe. Frozen banana shavings are great for cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, or as a healthy dessert.
