A chic hack for turning a basic light switch into a rose gold work of art! Claire Zinnecker shows you how to achieve the look with a copper sheet in this week's episode of "HomeWorks."
DIY Copper Light Switch
Directions:
Measure light switch cover and round the number up by a couple of centimeters on each side.
Using a pen, outline the measurements onto the copper sheet.
Using protective gloves, cut out the rectangle with a box knife or equivalent. This might take a few times to cut all the way through.
Mark the inside rectangle of the light switch cover onto the copper cutout.
Repeat step 3. Have patience! The copper is thick and takes some work, but once you’re done cutting, you have your cover!
Using a flat head screwdriver, screw the light switch cover back into the wall.
Apply a generous amount of bonding glue to the back of the copper sheet cut out, leaving a ½ inch parameter around the copper cut out unglued.
Attach cut out to the original light switch cover and apply pressure until it holds. Voila!
