Magnetic Place Card Holder
Start by preheating your oven to 275 (the temperature might vary based on the brand of clay you use so be sure to the read label and directions for the specific brand you use). Roll out pieces of the clay with a rolling pin to ¼” in thickness.
Now you can certainly make these in solid colors, but we like the look of combining a couple colors together. To create a marbling look, roll out 2 separate colors and stack them on top of each other. Roll it and twist it into a ball. Then, flatten with clay cutter to desired thickness and cut out your shapes.
Next, place the clay shapes on top of a baking sheet. Bake for 30 mins. (times might vary based on the brand of clay you use so be sure to the read label and directions for the specific brand you use). Once cooled, use super glue to glue magnets onto the clay pieces.
Finally, once you have your place cards ready to go, use the magnets to secure to the front and back of each one. The magnet also serves as a stand to help them stay upright.
Chalkboard Wine Glass Place Cards
Place a strip of painter’s tape around the stem of the wine glass. This will be removed later to create a clean edge after the paint is dry.
Open the paint can, give it a quick stir, and spread wax paper out on your work surface. Dip a wine glass into the paint, stopping at the area marked with tape. Slowly remove the wine glass from the paint. Let as much as possible drip off of the bottom before placing it on the wax paper. Repeat with each wine glass until you reach the desired amount.
Gently move each wine glass every 20 minutes until dry. If necessary, rest the glass on its side overnight to allow the bottom to dry. When completely dry, carefully remove the tape from the stem. It may be necessary to clean up the edge with an xacto knife.
