DIY Squash Bird Feeder
Directions:
1) Cut off the bottom third of a medium sized acorn squash. Scoop out the seed with a spoon. Set aside.
2) Measure out three 2 yard lengths of jute twine.
3) Arrange the three pieces of twine side by side and fold in half. Tie a hanging loop at the middle fold.
4) Divide the six strands of twine into pairs. Knot each pair about 1 1/2" down from the hanging loop.
5) Tie all six strands together at the very bottom, creating a tassel. Trim if necessary.
6) Place the squash, cut side down on your work surface. Position the tassel above the squash stem and fit the hanging strands between the natural ridges of the squash.
7) Holding the squash and the hanger in place, invert the squash right side up and adjust in the hanger.
